This section is for BASICS South West Clinical and Operational Guidelines.

Clinical & Operational Guidelines, are provided for use by BASICS South West Members. These aim to be evidence based, where possible, and draw heavily on consensus guidelines produced by the pre-hospital authoritative bodies. Our Guidelines are drawn up by members or schemes before being agreed by the committee. They are developed for use by our members (where appropriately trained) and in our regions. They are not designed to be an authoritative reference and BASICS South West can take no responsibility for their use by other individuals.

We aim to produce common guidelines across all schemes in the region. However where this is not possible, due to geography and administrative boundaries, a few remain particular to individual schemes (for example Management of Controlled Drugs).

Whilst individual schemes may continue to have some administrative guidelines or policies, clinical guidelines are for the use of members of all schemes across the BASICS South West region.
